The Office of NRM National Chairman (ONC) has partnered with Buganda Kingdom to equip thousands of youths in Kampala with startup capital items as one of the ways to create jobs and alleviate in poverty as championed by the government.
The development was reached on Thursday, November 30, at Bulange Mengo where the ONC Manager, SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye who represented President Yoweri Museveni delivered two million shillings to the Buganda Kingdom for the Oluwalo Lwaffe (our duty) cause. She had joined to the team of Kampala Gombolola Mutuba IV on the afternoon.
In her remarks before the Kingdom officials, Hajjat Namyalo said the campaign will see several youths who engage in self-employment activities secure capital tools and equipment to boost their operations, and some to start their own businesses.
“I request that you allow us to meet the youths of Kampala in a poverty eradication drive. Those who are in the tailoring business, mechanics, washing bay, and the like, to be part of ONC’s wealth creation campaign which will boost their livelihoods,” she stated.
Namyalo however scoffed at opportunists who “manipulate the youths to abuse drugs and use them for selfish motives to hate the government, yet these are youths who are the bazzukulu and will be the leaders of tomorrow.”
As part of what her office has done for youths in Kampala so far, Namyalo disclosed that recently, 20 fully paid scholarships were offered to 20 youths alone for the opportunity to study in Iran at free cost. “In Buganda alone, particularly Kampala [Ssaza], we gave out scholarships to 20 youths to go and study in Iran at different academic levels, all at a free cost (both tuition and accommodation,” she stated.
In re-echoing the upcoming celebrations of the World Aids Day slated for tomorrow, December 1st, the ONC Boss rallied the Bazzukulu ba Museveni to be alert about the challenge of HIV/AIDS by intensifying the ABC (Abstinence, Be Faithful and Condom Use) strategy that was initiated by the President to kick HIV/AIDS out of Uganda.
She also outlined the duty of all Ugandans to know their status & those who are positive to adhere to the medical treatment.
Hajjat Namyalo ended her remarks by endorsing the #JajjaTovaKuMain campaign and asked the Buganda Kingdom to spread the gospel of President Museveni’s able leadership, which in the end will see the Kingdom benefit more from his next term in office, 2026.
On behalf of the Kingdom, Minister Noah Kiyimba who represented Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga applauded Hajjat Namyalo for the work she is doing in empowering Ugandan youths and promised to reach out to the Minister of Youths in the Central Government, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe to effect the wealth creation campaign in Kampala county.
“I thank Hajjat Namyalo who has been part of us in the Buganda Kingdom activities, and thank you for asking to cooperate with us on the youths’ affairs. The message will swiftly be delivered to the line minister to reach out to you for the implementation of this campaign,” Owek Kiyimba remarked.
The Workaholic ONC Manager who is on a national mission of spreading the gospel of wealth creation and self-empowerment is expected to hand over items such as sewing machines, popcorn machines, hair dryers, hair-cutting machines, bricklaying machines, and grinding machines among others to the youth and women groups during this campaign.
