According to the President, many Bazzukulu are fond of just sleeping with women free of charge with no plans to make their relationships legal and official.

Congratulating the Kyabazinga and his newly wed queen, Museveni said he is glad that His Royal Highness has got a Helper, the Inhebantu of Busoga, who will assist him in governing the Kingdom.

“It is written in the book of Genesis, Chapter 2, Verse 18, that: And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him. Therefore, I commend His Royal Highness, for his wise decision to get a Wife and Queen of Busoga Kingdom. I wish you a fruitful and blessed union.”

Museveni further noted that the Kyabazinga has set a good example, especially for the Bazzukulu because marriage is good as it instils discipline and accountability to your partner and God.

“It gives you stability and helps you to focus on worthy goals in life. It also accords you the privilege of being a co-creator with God, through the blessing of children,” he said.

Museveni’s message to the youths comes after the royal couple earlier on Saturday exchanged vows and united in a holy matrimony at Christ’s Cathedral in Bugembe.

The ceremony was officiated by Archbishop of Uganda, Stephen Kaziimba Magula, who commended the Kyabazinga for embracing a marriage founded on God’s support, emphasizing the sacred bond between man and woman.

The cathedral burst into applause when the Queen, who had not been publicly seen for over a month since the engagement was announced, walked into Bugembe to mark the start of the function before the two love birds said I DO.
