The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye aka Chief Muzzukulu has donated equipment the party mobilizers and supporters as one the meaning to implement the gospel of economic empowerment and wealth creation for all across the country.
The assortment which included Sewing Machines, Bricks laying Machines, G.nuts Grinding Machines, Hair dryers, Popcorn machines, Farm sprayers, Maize seeds, Pesticides, Herbicides, Fertilizers, Beans seeds, Welding machines and others were handed at the Kyambogo- based office on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking to hundreds of mobilisers and supporters from different regions of the country, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo encouraged the Bazzukulu to walk the talk by getting economically empowered through the current government programs.
“I held a meeting with President Museveni last Friday, during which we discussed avenues of empowering NRM mobilizers and one of the measures he suggested was empowering them through starting up income generating projects for them. However, he observed that although giving them money as capital (Entadikwa) to start up small business is a good idea, it’s better to give them machines, which will not only enable them earn some income, but also foster an environment for training and skill acquisition, which will in turn create jobs for others.” she noted
“The President noted that instead of processing money for the groups, which would take long to be secured because it involves a lot of protocol, it is better to give the mobilizers these machines, such that they can immediately start working and earning income, as they rally support for the NRM amongst other Ugandans.” she added.
The recipients of the equipment and agricultural inputs were from over 80 groups across the country including Kampala youth vendors, women groups, district women league, boda boda groups, Kampala Getto groups among others.
Hajjat Namyalo further cautioned the recipients against misusing, selling the equipment adding that her office has put in place a team to follow up and monitor them to make sure they are being used for their intended purposes.
This is not the first time ONC has been supporting Ugandans to get better economically.
On Sunday 24th September 2023 while in Bukomansimbi at the late Khasim Mukiibi’s home where family, relatives and key religious leaders gathered for Duwa prayers, Namyalo used the opportunity to spread her countrywide self-empowerment program by providing equipment worth millions to women and youths
She donated to them brand-new salon hair dryers, sewing machines, hair cutting machines, bricks laying and welding machines
In August 2023, Namyalo donated relief items to Excel Vocational Training Centre in Kalule, Luwero District, weeks after the institution was gutted by fire that destroyed property worth millions of shillings.
The donated items included; 100 blankets, 50 mattresses and 30 bags of cement.
In April this year, ONC donated over 8,000 chicks and hybrid goats to farmers in Luweero District in what she called a poverty alleviation initiative, a special presidential arrangement to fight poverty in various parts of the country.
