Ugandan Delegates Arrive In Canada For 2nd NRM Chapter Symposium

High-ranking government officials and delegates from the ruling National Resistance Movement have arrived in Toronto, Canada ahead of the second edition of the Annual NRM Chapter Symposium slated for Friday, 11the August to Sunday, August 13th 2023.

Uganda’s High Commissioner to Canada, H.E. Ambassador Joy Ruth Acheng, welcomed the delegation from Uganda, highlighting that the embassy looks forward to uniting with Ugandans back home and those in Canada, to ensure economic development.

The delegation was led by the third Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Rukia Nakadama who is already in Canada to enable interactions with business people interested in investing in Uganda and hold dialogues aimed at unifying a prosperous diaspora.

Other officials who arrived today in Ontario included the Minister for Presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, and the senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs, Ambassador Hajji Abbey Walusimbi.

Mr Fred Kinene, the Chairperson of the NRM Canada Chapter and his Deputy, Samson Kaggwa, have noted that the event will also focus on strengthening good working relations, tightening the party’s roots, and trade, among others.


Among the objectives of the 2023 symposium will be a discussion aimed at helping Ugandans in Canada on how to hold successful businesses back home as well as taking them through various business opportunities available in their home country.

Some of the NRM officials this publication reached out to are hopeful that the symposium will be of great importance to the ruling government in counteracting opposition propaganda which has been dimming the achievements of the party.

They (officials) say, through such gatherings, the world can be able to understand the truth.
