The SPA/DA, Ambassador Hajji Abbey Walusimbi joined Muslims gathered for Eid al-Fitr prayers at Luwero Muslim District Mosque, where he rallied them to preach unity and embrace government projects, in a bid to improve household incomes.

“The government has initiated several development projects targeting the welfare of its people. You should be part of the government programs through collective participation. The Emyooga, Parish Development Model among many other projects can improve your welfare,” he told the Muslim faithful.

He also asked the Muslim community to continue upholding the virtues of discipline, humility and charity, which they displayed during the fasting period.

Walusimbi also congratulated our Muslim brothers and sisters in Sudan, upon finishing their fasting period. He asked them to continue the good works and dedication to the holy laws, despite the ongoing unrest.

The Ambassador reiterated President Museveni’s call by condemning the misuse of force, adding that it’s irresponsible and should stop immediately.

He assured that President Museveni, his counterparts under IGAD, the NRM government & Uganda Embassy in Khartoum, are discussing how best to de-escalate the situation and restore calm in Sudan.

Luwero District Khadhi, Sheikh Ramathan Mulindwa, tasked the Muslim faithful to pray for peace and engage in income generating activities.

The event was also graced by Member of Parliament for Katikamu North, Hon. Denis Sekabira.
